Animal Crossing New Horizons my thoughts so far

I have played 185 hours of Animal Crossing new horizons so far since April. I share my island with my brother and togther we own and run Kolbe Isle named after St. Maximillian Kolbe. I love the graphics in this game and the different personalities of the different animals staying on the island. Currently we have Phoebe who is an ostrich. She my favourite, Biff who is a hippo, Barold who is a cub, Patty who is a cow, Merengue who is a rhino she is probably my least favourite, Pietro who is a sheep that looks like a clown, Lucha who is a bird, Alli who is a alligator, Truffles who is a pig and finally Lopez who is a deer.

One of the 1st things i generally do when I 1st start the game is shake all the trees on my island because bells or items can fall from the trees. When doing this make sure to have you net in hand as some trees can have a wasps nest and when the tree is shaken the nest can fall and you can get stung by wasps unless you catch it with you net. Another thing I do everyday is to check around for money rocks.

I think the update this month came just in time because the game for me was getting a bit boring with doing the same thing every day. The events can be interesting with the bug and fishing events. I did the bug one but not the fishing one.

I generally keep any bugs I catch in my inventory until I see Flick around because I think he buys them at a higher price than if you would sell them in the shop. I do the same with weeds and wait for Leif to come and I can sell them to Leif.

I find some to the dialogue's very long for example Blathers in the museum and Orville in the dodo airlines. I like the swimming, I only caught Perl so far though.

In my opinion I think the hype of animal crossing new horizons is beginning to go down now. I love the game and I play it everyday but I feel it is starting to get repetitive and a bit boring now so hopefully with the 2nd update in August it will give some more oomph to the game again.

I really like the fact you can visit friends islands. Typing can be tedious on the switch so messaging friends can be a hard and slow process in my opinion.

I love the flowers in this game. They are beautiful

Animal Crossing New Horizons is definitely one of the best games in a long time and I think it has really brought out people's creative side at a time when creativity is most likely at an all time high due to the current pandemic. The game came out at the right time in my opinion with more people at home and playing games. It is a game that I hope will last a long time.

Books I read so far in 2025

January A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens. This is a timeless classic about a scrooge who hates Christmas, who in the end after meeting a few ghosts has a new found love for life and for Christmas. Faith: In search of Greater Glory in Sport by Gerard Gallagher  This book is very well written. I could feel the topic of religion is very important on these peoples lives. Even the people who don't consider themselves religious, I felt were thinking some bit about religion. I did feel it focused a bit too much on people who played GAA sports. I suppose it's OK given that GAA is our national sports but not everyone in Ireland is into GAA. I suppose I felt it could have been more evenly spread out among all the sports mentioned. It was a very good read nonetheless.   February The House of my mother by Shari Franke.  8 passengers was a YouTube channel I watched around 2018 to 2020 or thereabout. Little did I know what was going on behind the smiles for the camera and se...

What will I give up for Lent?

Lent begins today, Ash Wednesday and to be honest I'm not exactly giving up anything for Lent. What I will be doing is cutting down on screen time. I have already started this a little last Saturday. I personally spend many hours on screens be it computer, tablet, games consoles or television. I watch T.V. during meal times too. This is the part I am giving up. During breakfast and dinner for the most part I will try and not watch T.V. I will talk to the people around me. I recently started using my New Nintendo 3dsXL and I have noticed I can play it for a long time during the course of the day. I have started using a timer to keep me more mindful of my use of it and that has helped. I  want to use Lent as a time to become closer to God. I aim to do that by either praying a bit more, even one small prayer is good or do something that helps me be closer to God. That can be play religious music, read religious books, going for a walk and noticing the things He created or garden...

Starting my weight loss journey again

On the 4th of January 2023 I wrote a post outlining my goals for 2023. One of them was to lose weight in a year. I originally set this goal to start from yesterday the 4th of February but I weight myself today instead. My goal is to lose 1 stone by next Christmas please God. This is my starting weight. I have not decided if I will weigh myself on a Saturday or Sunday each week. But I will decide that as the weeks go on. I will weigh myself each week if I can. I aim to lose 1-2lbs a week. My 1st plan is to cut down the days I have treats. Now I have them on Saturday and Sunday. I will cut it down to Sunday. I also plan to restart using healthunlocked website to log my weightloss. You can follow me  https://healthunlocked.com/user/CreativeKnitter That is enough of a change as I don't want to change to much too quickly. Starting weight 16 st 0 lbs Weight next week: 15 st 13 lbs
