Anxiety setback and how it affects me

I am currently going through another one of my setbacks in my anxiety and here is how I experience them. I am usually going along with my life just fine then wham I'm in a setback. I usually get setbacks that affect my sleep somehow. This time around is no different. I am experiencing insomnia every second night for the last week. I just can't seem to sleep until around 3.30am or 4am. I sleep then until about 9am which is actually a good amount of sleep however I am usually anxious before I sleep and therefore the quality of sleep would not be great.

I experience thoughts going around in my head for example "oh no it is 2.30am and I am still not a sleep" or I would go to bed, do my diary, read my book etc. whatever I usually do and then lie down and my thoughts would go to something like "oh no I'm lying down 30 mins now and I'm not even near sleeping"

These are my trigger thoughts. On a normal night I would not care about the sleep but when I am having a setback it is all I seem to care about at that time. I am doing things to help me. I am redoing a course I finished a few months ago on anxiety. It is facilitated by Aware using the silvercloud platform and it is self paced and free. I also try and type in how I feel on the mental health forum called turn2me. It is basically a social network, where you are anonymous and can check in at certain times with how you are feeling and join text chat groups on different topics such as "Tips on how to manage anxiety" which are facilitated by a turn2me volunteer. The things you post can be private where only you can see it or public where others can comment on your post with helpful advice. I also talk to my family and especially my brother a lot.

What makes this setback different than all the rest is that I am a stronger person now and I realise that I can do a lot of things even on little sleep. I try not to let lack of sleep or tiredness dictate me. I felt frustrated and a bit emotional this morning because I felt that this is never doing to end but I know from past experiences that it will end. I know what I need to do and setbacks are a good thing and will happen in recovery.

I have a tendency to do things like what I mentioned above with Aware and turn2me etc. until I feel better and then stop but I really should be doing it on a regular basis to help me on the road to recovery.

I wanted to do this post to help others but also to help myself because I feel better when I type out what is making me anxious rather than talk to a stranger. That reminds me I also will be using the Samaritans. They can be both rang on 116123 or emailed which is what I aim to do.

Right now I am good but I know I am still in the setback a little. I know I will get through it as I always do but I just wanted to share my experience.

I hope to do an update soon again.

Thanks for reading please share and comment below. What are setbacks like for you and what helps you through them?

Power Rangers Zeo Vehicles

Power Rangers Zeo was a programme I watched as a child. My brother liked it more than I did growing up as it was a programme geared more toward boys at the time. As an adult I rewatch it many times and I really enjoy it. I don't like it as much as MMPR though. My favourite characters would have to be Tommy and Katherine much for the same reasons as I liked Tommy and Kimberly in MMPR. the vehicles that the Power Rangers used in this season were the:

  • Zeo Jet cycles. They were very similar to the shark cycles from MMPR I did a post on the shark cycles and other vehicles from MMPR which can be viewed here. The Jet Cycles were owned as follows:
Pink (Katherine) had the Zeo Jet Cycle I

Yellow (Tanya) had the Zeo Jet Cycle II

Blue (Rocky) had the Zeo Jet Cycle III

Green (Adam) had the Zeo Jet Cycle IV

Red (Tommy) had the Zeo Jet Cycle V

The designs were unique to each Power Ranger. They were created by Billy and Alpha 5. Billy was the Blue Ranger in MMPR but handed over his Powers to Rocky in Zeo. He mostly worked in the Command Centre with Zordon and Alpha. He was into science and building things so he helped the rangers in that way. The Jet Cycles are very similar to a motorcycle with each representing the colours of the power rangers that would be controlling them.

Fun Fact: The Gold ranger Version was released as a toy to be sold to kids but it never appeared in any Power Rangers Zeo episodes. The Gold Ranger was originally Trey of Triforia but Jason came back to take over after Trey of Triforia released their powers to him. Billy was going to be the Gold Ranger but his body rejected the powers. In the Japanese Sentai version of Power Rangers Zeo, which was called Ohranger, the jet cycles were called Jetter Machines.

  • The Defender Wheel: This was again developed by Billy and Alpha 5. When not in use it was stored in Zeo Zord V. It was operated by Tommy. When Tommy was inside it it generated powerful energy that defeated normal sized monsters. Rocky operated it one time and defeated a monster. It looks like a powerful giant wheel
Fun Fact: When Rocky used it to destroy a monster called Defector, it was the only time it destroyed a monster. In the Japanese Sentai version of Power Rangers Zeo it was called Giant Roller

Thank you so much for reading my blog post. The images and the information I got for this post can be found on https://powerrangers.fandom.com/wiki/Category:Arsenal_(Zeo)#Vehicles and here https://powerrangers.fandom.com/wiki/Category:Zeo_Rangers?file=Ohranger_With_Kingranger.jpg

Mighty Morphin Power Rangers (MMPR) Vehicles

MMPR was a programme I watched as a child. My brother liked it more than I did growing up as it was a programme geared more toward boys at the time. As an adult I rewatch it many times and I really enjoy it. My favourite characters would have to be Tommy, Kimberly and Alpha 5. I will take this time before talking about the vehicles in the series to remember Thuy Trang R.I.P who played the yellow MMPR who died on September the 3rd 2001 at the age of 27 in a car accident https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thuy_Trang#Death Now back to the cars in MMPR

  • The RadBug: Radbug stands for Remote Activated Drivingzord for Basic Ultra Geomorphology wow that is a mouth-full. It was a volkswagon Beetle with large canisters and exhaust on it and it was built by Billy Cranston who was the Blue MMPR. It was used because the green ranger who was Tommy was at that stage evil and destroyed the rangers teleportation systems along with other controls in the command centre. The command centre was a place where the rangers could come together to come up with plans on how to defeat evil and also a place where they could regroup. Zordon was their mentor and he was basically a giant floating head in a tube and Alpha 5 was his sidekick who was a robot. The Radbug could go from 0 to 3000mph in less than 3 seconds and could fly. This vehicle was used in a few episodes
  •  The Shark Cycles: The shark cycles were created out of the fossilised fin of great prehistoric shark. The spirit of the great shark resided in the shark cycles. The shark cycles also had battle features. The shark cycles are very similar to motorcycles. They had a shark inspired design. At the back of the cycles there was a large tail fin. The tail of the Red and White cycles were twice as tall as the fins on the other's cycles. The front of the cycles were similar to a sharks head with pointed teeth and noses that was painted on. There appears to be a blade of spikes on the front of the cycles. The back of the cycles had red break lights.
  • The Battle bikes: They were only seen in the background while of the rangers fought a monster. "They were based off the Tyrannosaurus, Triceratops and Mastodon Zords for the Red, Blue and Black Rangers respectively. The Blue and Black Battle Bikes had side cars for the Pink and Yellow Rangers." https://powerrangers.fandom.com/wiki/Category:Arsenal_(Mighty_Morphin_1)
Fun fact: The battle bikes only had 1 appearance on screen, they were never shown in use on screen again.

Thank you so much for reading my blog post. The Shark cycles would have to be my favourite looking vehicles. I got information about these vehicles from these 2 websites here and here

The Regular cars on the Waltons

Here is a list of some of the cars that appeared on the Waltons

  • John Walton had a 1928 Model AA Ford 1 and a half ton pickup truck
  • John-boy had a 1929/30 Ford Model A Coupe
  • Jim-Bob had a 1926 Ford Model T This one could be the one he built himself
  • Curt had a 1932 Ford Model B Sedan Delivery
  • The Walton's family car in later seasons was a 1941 Plymouth Woody Station Wagon
  • The Baldwin sisters could have had a 1925 Studebaker
  • Cindy had a 1939/40 Ford convertible
I couldn't find what make car Ep Bridges had and the website I saw wasn't sure about the Baldwin sisters car. My favourite of these cars would have to be Cindy's car because red is my favourite colour especially in a car.

Fact about John Walton's truck. Sometimes it would not run so they would have to put a rope around the front bumper and some of the crew men would pull the truck into or out of the shot. Most of the vehicles were hard to steer. I found out about this fact on Judy Norton's (Mary Ellen) youtube channel on a video she done about the vehicles which can be viewed here. I found out about the vehicles on this forum here

Thank you so much for reading my blog post. I watched the Waltons as a child and I'm rewatching it now. I am currently making my way through season 4, as with Knight Rider, it originally ran before I was born I got to see it growing up through reruns.

KITT from Knight Rider

KITT had many variations throughout the Knight Rider series. The original KITT was a 1982 Pontiac Trans Am. It was a 2 door coupe with front engine and back-wheel drive. It was fitted with customised after burners and had a turbo jet. KITT could go from 0-60 mph in 2 seconds.

20 cars were purchased for the show. Many of them were destroyed after the show. 5 still remain and the original is now stored away and is occasionally brought to conventions.

The name KITT stands for Knight industries 2000 but who says that. I didn't know that until today. We all just know it as KITT. KITT was voiced by William Daniels which 90's kids would know as Mr Feeny from Boy meets world.

So what other things could KITT do besides the obvious Turbo boost and seat ejection

  • Molecular shell to protect itself during explosions
  • Heat resistant with the use of Pyroclastic lamination
  • The control of other machines using the Electronic Jamming system
  • Flame throwers, tear gas and flares
  • Silent mode
  • Shock resistant protection for Michael or other passengers while they were under attack using Passive Layer resistant system
  • Analyses chemicals
  • Over ride the AI where Michael could take over control of KITT
  • Surveillance mode
  • Grappling hook
SPOILER ALERT!!!

KITT could not drive itself sorry to burst any bubble. It was driven by a stunt man lying on the floor.

Thank you so much for reading my blog post. I watched Knight Rider a lot as a child and even though it originally ran before I was born I got to see it growing up through reruns. KITT could have been the car that got me interested in cars and that is because it was so cool looking. Here is the website where I got the information for this blog. The next car blog I will do will be on the cars that were reguarly on the Waltons. There was many cars on the Waltons so I will probably do a blog on each separately but we will see. What was your favourite thing about KITT or Knight Rider in general. Mine would have to be Turbo boost. Here is a funny video done by Irish comedian doing a mock of Knight Rider.

I love cars

Not a lot of people know this but one of my hobbies is cars. When I was a child I would read a lot of books from the library about cars, that and books about dogs too. I would tell my mother innocently one day I will own that car garage (not knowing then about money. I just knew I loved the cars).

When my father would buy a new car or get his car serviced I generally always went with him to see all the different cars in the shop. I loved the smell of new cars. When dad would buy a new car I remember as a child I would be always fidgeting around the car trying to find all the new stuff that the old car wouldn't have while dad was driving (safely though I always had my seatbelt on lol). I generally knew a lot about the car by the time my father would have driven us home which was at most a 45 minute drive.

As I became an adult the interest started fading unfortunately due to different circumstances but I am still interested in cars and I want to rekindle my interest I had in cars. I like the look of expensive cars and I do have somewhat of an interest in them but my preference is more finding out more affordable stylish cars and classic cars.

I was thinking from time to time I may share about some makes of cars and facts about them on my blog here. Maybe even car makes that were featured on T.V. shows such as Knight rider, Batman and the Waltons etc. That way I will find out along with you more about car.

I have a problem!!! 📖📚📙

Houston I have a problem. I have too many books in my bookcase and in my kindle library. To see what books I have in my bookcase and kindle click the links as I have done 2 blog posts on that. Back to the reason you're here, I have many books on my shelf and kindle that I don’t seem to get around to reading to often. I wouldn’t call myself an addict to buying books but I’m a sucker for asking my mother for books she has or is finished with that look like good reads and then they end up in the bookcase and never get read because I always ask and she nearly always says yes. I did start reading one of the books my mother gave me recently, this morning and I do read every night but I need to challenge myself to read the books I currently have. I would never get into debt buying books or anything and I don’t buy books a lot at all. When buying books I usually get them second hand for less than €1 but I do have a bit of a problem asking my mother for books and she would give them to me.

I am beginning to feel overwhelmed with the amount of books I do have and some have been there for years. They are books I would like to read. I just need to try and stop asking mam for books and stop buying the odd books I do have at least until I have read the books I have.

So my challenge is to read the books I do have and here are the rules

  1. Finish the books I am currently reading in my bookcase
  2. Read the books I have in my bookcase and my kindle
  3. Don't get anymore books until I have these read either from mam or shops (with exception to books I might need to buy for courses etc.)
I realised this morning when I was going through my books that there are a lot of books that I started reading a while ago and left a book mark in and didn't finish along with ones I started reading recently. I want to finish those 1st and they are

    1. Women who think too much by Dr. Susan Noleen-Hoeksema
    2. The Imitation of Christ by Thomas a Kempis
    3. Militant resurrecting authentic Catholicism by Michael Voris S.T.B
    4. To light a fire on the earth proclaiming the gospel in a secular age by Bishop Robert Barron
    5. 2019-20 Notes on a season The nine in a row by Neil Lennon
    6. A light in the window by Jan Karon which I read every night
    7. Pony Club Secrets Destiny and Stardust by Stacy Gregg
I have other Catholic books that I won't be using reading in this challenge as I usually read more Catholic books in Adoration and whenever Adoration comes back after lockdown I will be able to read these books there where I can concentrate on them more. I have some Catholic books listed above because they are ones I read at home.

Thank you for reading my post and if you want to do this challenge feel free to do so and leave a comment so we can see how you are doing and what books you are reading.

    Facing the Unpredictable Anxiety Setback

As those of you may know who have followed me since the beginning. I was diagnosed with Generalised Anxiety Disorder in 2016. During that t...
